On Saturday 1 December a team of nutters from Barnes Runners will take part in the Grim Challenge. It is an 8-mile romp around the army’s vehicle testing track. You will encouter all manner of obstacles – waist deep puddles, cargo nets, lakes of mud (that is a strange orange colour), Etonians running in suits and six foot fairies. Josh, Jenni, Sam, Kat and I did this last year; it was brilliant fun!
I have registered the team ‘Barnes Runners’, so if you are interested in entering select the category – ‘mixed team entry’ – and put this in the team name field. Remember to enter on SATURDAY (there is also an event on Sunday). If anyone has any fancy dress suggestions please let me know!

With this in mind and only seven weeks away our track sessions will be aimed at preparing us for this. If anyone wants a six day a week programme to follow in preparation for the event I would suggest following either the runners world 10 mile or 10k training programme.
