Box Hill Sunday Run

Box HillDenise Bates will be wrangling the club’s first post-solstice run from Rose House this Sunday (23 June) – a leisurely-paced 10 kilometres through some of the finest blue-plaque sporting housing stock that south-west London has to offer.

At the same time, I will be wrangling a self-supported 40 kilometre run “across” Box Hill that all members are welcome to attend. Being a self-supported endeavour, interested parties should bring with them a suitable running vest/hydration pack, together with water (“hydration”), food (“energy”) and a measure of gentle enthusiasm. Maps, GPS devices and emergency funds are also recommended, as are gaiters, knowledge of the symptoms of Lyme’s disease and sun protection cream for the more dermatologically delicate. There is every possibility that we shall be required to fjord the River Mole (“the Yukon of the Home Counties”), so old / trail shoes should be worn.

River MoleA shorter option may also be offered, wrangled by David Kelly and Tom McCauley. Further details will be published in the next few days.

The meeting place will be the car park of Box Hill & Westhumble Station – 09h45 for a 10h00 departure. Please email me if you are interested in coming and require / can offer a lift.
