Interval training – Thursday 18 March 2015

budgetThe committee’s penultimate interval training session before British Summertime is deployed coincides with the Chancellor’s final budget before May’s general election.

Consequently, utterances such as “Britain is walking tall again”, “fresh crackdown on tax avoidance and evasion” and “better-than-expected growth figures” must be heard (used ironically, of course, and bursting with an exotic blend of triumphalism and supercilious smugness) as runners put on their head torches and trace a path among the Branta canadensis excreta, in accordance with the schema below.

Programme Windfall

  1. 1 lap warm-up, integrating dynamic stretching, allpassian bottom-kicking and Harman lunges
  2. 1.6 km (4 laps) at your 5K pace (or a tad slower if you are feeling delicate)
  3. 200 m (0.5 lap) recovery run
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 a total of 4 (four) times (making a total of five reps)
  5. 4 laps recovery run

At the end of the session, you are invited to return to your respective homes and play “Budget Day Bingo“. Please click here in order to download the equipment that you will need (courtesy of The Independent).
