Mens XC Match 4 – Match Report

McPoland clambers out just in front of Edwards and Dancinger

A traditionally muddy wet and cold  fixture in croydon did not let the Men’s brave XC team down on Saturday.   At an earlier start time of 1400, a (nearly full) quorum of 9 set off to the start.   Only 8 actually got there as the SW london traffic came to a standstill and our ultra-running star Vassos Alexander was stuck, not in the mud, but on priory lane. All efforts very much welcomed and applauded.

In ankle deep water, the team were headed out by McPoland who kept his impressive form throughout the season, followed in by Edwards and a rejuvenated and returning Dancinger and a surprise and very welcome appearance by Dylan Grimes.   Matteo Maino had a great run on his XC debut and club stalwarts Cornock, Oregano and Kelly made up the remainder. Full results here

Great effort by all this season, which we shall view as (ahem) transitional, before we return stronger and faster next year.

(Next up – the mens and ladies Surrey Road Race season – starting very soon…. watch this space….)
